Ochres and earth pigments are naturally occurring coloured clays that have been used for thousands of years. They were used to make the prehistoric cave paintings of Lascaux and Altamira. 

Earth pigments continue to be used by tribal peoples across the world for everyday purposes and in sacred art. 

The kit consists of four jars of powdered earth pigments (red ochre, yellow ochre, black ochre, and white clay), and an information sheet. 

These earth pigments are lightfast and permanent and can be mixed with water, oils, paints, glues, gums, waxes, or plaster to give strong, soft, beautiful colours.
